It was a convergence of wedding vendors and brides-to-be, grooms-to-be, mothers, mothers-in-law to be, friends and families as guests walked through the doors of the 2014 Lagos edition of Wed Expo Lagos held at The Haven event centre, GRA, Ikeja from 28th-30th of March.

Over 150 booths were occupied with wedding vendors and experts: wedding planners, decorators, photographers, designers, cake and dessert makers, makeup artists, bridal and groom houses, etc. Guests moved from booth to booth interacting with the vendors and sampling offerings as vendors wooed them with beautifully displayed products and services and ensured that everyone who stopped by exchanged contact details for business cards and flyers.

Guests enjoyed wedding gown trials and makeup trials, tuxedo and suit trials, cake and wine tasting, free consultation with wedding planners, designers and photographers plus great discounts on offered products and services as part of the perks of attending the event. The Delightful Edibles booth had the most amazing, divine cheesecakes, I literally had to restrain myself from asking for more after savoring a piece…Almonds and Vanilla had spectacular cakes as well as Chocolate Delight (these guys even make chocolate chin-chin. Fascinating). The ON & ON Digital Studio booth allowed people to be captured in “slow mo”, so you get in, play around while they video you and then your video comes out in slow motion. It was lovely. Faajihub and Go Wedding Direct exhibited their wedding planning websites, creating a platform for vendors and people about to get married to plan with ease.The guys at Rosety Gardens turned their booth into (guess what?) a garden! There was like a garden on the walls…it was genius. I adored the lady at the Wedding Feferity! She was so warm and even posed for a picture…and her cards on display were pretty. Dekey Decor And Events, Tolufashe Event Decorations and Torge Events had gorgeous events decorations on display. Tolufashe gave out gift certificates of a free bouquet and buttonhole (yay). I loved chatting with Tosin of Torge…she runs Torge with her husband and they have do some stunningly creative decorations. There were so many beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses on display like the ones at the RhemiRoses (who makes exquisite bridesmaids dresses…and even casual dresses too) and Imani Swank. The Swish Ideas booth exhibited very “swishy”, quirky gifts and wedding souvenirs. It was an “American Wonder” booth, walahi. There were lots of give-away too at the event, 5d Imagery (they had one of the largest booths and they do high quality photography) gave out free pre-wedding photoshoot to 15 couples.

Wed Expo is arguably Africa’s largest wedding exhibition and such an awesome platform for prospective brides and grooms to meet with amazing vendors. We are certain both exhibitors and guests attending Wed Expo Abuja from the 12th-13th of April at the M&M Event Center, Garki will benefit as much as those that attended Wed Expo Lagos did!
