Afrikoinart presents Aja /əˈdʒɑː/ (meaning sacrifice in Igbo) an artful adaptation of the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac. The burgeoning theatre arts production company established in 2015 has had success working with over 150 youths in Lagos and Abuja to enrich the lives of over 2,000 theatre-goers with performances encompassing drama, dance, music and poetry.

Peace Oni‘s re-imagining of this ancient story is set in Igbo land and employs vivid costumery and music to bring the story to life. Isaac Geralds and Daniella Oji provide the music to liven things up alongside poetry from Wayne Samuelle. Cast members include Oladele Samuel, Ayodeji Adejumo, Eniola Carew, Abimbola Oni, Boluwatife Awoyera, Sophia Hale, Andrew John and others under the artful direction of Seun Afolabi.

There are 2 separate venues and 2 dates to partake of this feast of the senses. It is definitely one to put in the calendar for next weekend.
